Lab Standards
This page describes how ScienceOne Labs sources, verifies, tracks, and documents the research materials in our catalog. It is the reference for what our lot numbers mean and what documentation you can expect with an order.
Sourcing and quality philosophy
We treat every incoming batch as unverified until it has passed review. Materials are accepted into inventory only after evaluation against defined criteria for identity and purity, and each accepted batch is assigned a unique ScienceOne Labs lot number. A batch that does not meet criteria is rejected. We do not blend lots, relabel lots, or carry material we cannot trace to its intake record.
Third-party testing
Independent third-party analysis is the reference standard for our catalog. Our intent is that every lot offered for sale is supported by a certificate of analysis (COA) from an independent laboratory, covering identity and purity at minimum.
Every lot is tested by an independent third party laboratory accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 before it is released for sale. Testing confirms identity, purity by HPLC, endotoxin level, residual solvents and the date of test. Each lot ships with its own Certificate of Analysis, referenced by the lot number printed on the vial, so the vial in your hand can always be matched back to the paperwork for that exact batch. A lot that fails identity, purity or endotoxin thresholds is rejected at the laboratory stage and never enters inventory. We do not reformulate or move a threshold to make a borderline batch fit.
Lot numbering and QR verification
Every vial we ship carries two traceability marks:
- Lot number. A unique identifier assigned at intake and printed on the vial label. It links the physical vial to its batch record, including intake date and associated documentation.
- QR code. Scanning the code on the vial resolves to that lot's record at scienceonelabs.com/c/LOT, where LOT is the lot number on the label. The lot page shows the product, the lot identifier, and the documentation on file for that lot.
If a vial's QR code does not resolve to a lot record, or the record does not match the label, stop and contact support before using the material in any work. We will verify the lot from our records.
Storage and handling guidance for laboratories
The guidance below is general laboratory materials handling, not usage instruction. Consult your institution's standard operating procedures for anything beyond storage.
- Store lyophilized vials sealed, protected from light, in a stable cold environment per the conditions listed on the product page and lot record.
- Avoid repeated temperature cycling. Keep vials in their shipped packaging until transferred to controlled storage.
- Keep labels legible and attached. The lot number is your link to the COA and batch record.
- Log receipt date and storage location in your laboratory's inventory system on arrival.
- Handle all research materials with standard laboratory personal protective equipment and dispose of them according to your institution's waste procedures.
Documentation customers receive
- Itemized packing list with the lot number of each vial shipped.
- Access to the certificate of analysis for each lot, via the QR lot page or on request.
- Lot record access at scienceonelabs.com/c/LOT for the life of the lot.
All materials described on this page are supplied for in vitro laboratory research and development only. RESEARCH USE ONLY - NOT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION.
